Most married couples are asked when they’ll have kids—Charli Worgan and her husband Cullen were asked why. Both have different forms of dwarfism and have faced public scrutiny, especially when Charli became pregnant.
After the birth of their first daughter, Charli began sharing their life on Instagram to educate others. Her account quickly grew, now with over 300,000 followers. The couple now has three children.
Each pregnancy came with emotional and medical challenges. Their children could inherit one of their conditions, be average height, or—worst case—inherit both, a fatal combination known as double dominant dwarfism. At 14 weeks pregnant with her third, Charli shared the pain of undergoing high-risk genetic testing rather than celebrating like most expectant moms.
Despite criticism for having children with such odds, Charli openly discusses their choices, urging compassion and understanding. In February, she welcomed baby Rip and shared:
“I’m tired but ever so grateful. There’s no ‘right’ way to do motherhood, and no ‘wrong’ way either.”
Charli’s journey reminds us that while every family looks different, the joys and struggles of parenting are universal.
